Little Free Library
When Mary O Callaghan from the Kenmare Family Resource Centre asked Kilgarvan Tidy Towns to assist her in placing a Little Free Library in Kilgarvan village, we were more than delighted to be involved in such a worthy project. Mary organised the funding and building of the library and Kilgarvan Tidy Towns installed the Library in Kilgarvan village at the corner next to Classis Cuts hairdressers. The project was funded by Kerry Count Council’s Community Support Fund. A Little Library is a free book exchange box or press, where anyone can take a book or leave a book. The mission of the Little Library is to build community, inspire readers and expand book access to all. If you take a book from the library, you do not need to return that exact book, however in order to keep the library full of good book choices the next time you visit the Little library bring a few books to share. This ensures there will always be quality books in the Little Library.
